No No No --- In my point of view social media is very effective option to make connectivity with Society...... From the begging of my Life career I'm using this. I have 104484 likes on my facebook page...on that I share free cricket betting tips with my followers..

Social media is not a waste of time ,its a good platform for marketing. Social networking sites like Facebook,twitter are the big canvases of communication where we can connect with our close ones.

- Social media marketing refers to the process of gaining traffic or attention.
- Twitter is a social site designed to let people share short messages or “updates” with others.
- organizations can interact with one another and build relationships and communities online. When companies join these social channels, consumers can interact with them directly.
- It connects the consumers and audiences to businesses that share the same needs, wants, and values.

Disagree. Social media marketing has given marketers a platform to advertise and give them more leads for sales. It has definitely transformed the traditional form of marketing. Yes, the constant ads are undesirable but it does open up opportunities to increase sales.

Definitely not, It is undesirable in the way that when people log into social media sites such as Facebook, they want to socialize and interact with their friends, and not look at Ads. However social media marketing provides marketers a better chance of lead generation, instead of targeting a large number of individuals, they can narrow their search down to the specific demographic they wish to target. For example if they want to target a specific demographic with certain tastes and preferences, they can do so more effectively as that information is available on social networking sites.

Social media platforms continue to grow, even though pay per click (PPC) marketing using search engines such as google might be more preferable, social media platforms too have their own merits, and cannot be discarded as mediums to reach the target audience.

NO not at all, to back it up let me list a few reasons why social media marketing is a must have in your to-do list:
1. With social media , you get access to your target market personally.
2.Social media helps you to respond to queries or problems immediately.
3.Customers actually read your messages or your texts.
4.It increases sales by increasing the no. of customers to your brand.
5.Maybe, you'll end up finding customers who you never knew existed.
6.Those customers will get access to you and in some cases, even buy from you.
7.And lastly, but the most important one, ITS FREE!!

Marketing is an art of creating, communicating and delivering the values to the consumers and making profits. While there are many channels through which marketing can be done, like TV, radio, banners, posters, billboards etc, but the main source of engaging consumers into the advertisement is done through social media marketing these days.
The number of users using internet is increasing exponentially, with India alone having 243 million users. As per the news, India has bypassed Japan to become the world’s third largest internet using nation, with its users being significantly younger than those of other countries. The number of people using facebook alone is about 100 million.
With such high number of people in social media platforms, it is of prime importance for any organization to market their product in social media. It will not only engage people in conversation about the product, it will also provide the benefit of two way communication between the individual and the organization, which can help the organization to respond to any problems immediately. It will create a buzz in social media and will help in spreading awareness about the product.
Marketing in social media is a cost effective medium of achieving the target. While marketing the product via printing in the newspaper and billboards may cost around 50 Lakhs, it would just cost around 3-4 lakhs while promoting the same in social media. Features like social media optimization makes it much easier for the product to market.
With such high presence in social media, marketing of any product helps in building the brand loyalty and increases inbound traffic. Hence it also helps in gaining much of the consumer insight.
Hence social media marketing leads to more customers, more traffic and more conversions.

its right that at present social media is a buzz and all the major companies are turning towards social media, not just facebook but twitter, linkedin , fan2go and many more because these are the sites where people spend 2-3 hours daily and if the company is trying to target youth then they find it best and cheaper. There are many advantages of social media marketing. One benefit to using social media marketing is that the results are much easier to measure and another is that a digital campaign can reach an infinite audience. It is also possible to customize a digital campaign to reach a local audience but it can also be used on the web and reach the entire globe when required. Social media marketing is also a very interactive means of reaching an audience since it makes use of social outlets. There can be plenty of direct contact between the targets and the company which means that the business can get some very valuable consumer feedback. One of the disadvantages to using social media marketing strategies is that it can take some time to realize measurable success. But it all depends on the product and type of customers you are targeting.

After reading above thought, it would be silly to waste your time in any case. So, when you see most of companies are involved in SMM strategy then is it better to say social media Marketing is a waste of time?

The Popular motorcycle company Harley Davidson, who doesn’t come up with any AV ad till now and have been following print Ad since its inception, but have a huge presence on Social Media (FB page & community). Same path is followed by Royal Enfield another most popular bike in luxury bike segments. Maggie, Johnson & Johnson, Apollo Munich, Dairy Milk & Nestle, they all are renowned and established brand (everybody can recall & recognize it) before the Social media term took its origin. Are they wasting their time over there? The answer would be ‘NO’. They are there because they can easily reach to the desire set of audience (There are 243 Million internet users in India; Source: Digital Insight). There are lots of competitors; among all of them, they have to mark their presence & prove that they are still the leader in the market. Apart from their sales & distribution strategy, they know they can target a set of desired audience on social media platforms as they can filter specific demographic requirement as per their products & services.
So, now the point arises when it will be considered as a waste of time. To be on Social media, it is necessary to have a clear intent of your approaching social media platform. First of all you need to analyze whether there is a need to be on Social Media. Right intent should be there. What exactly you expect from Social Media Marketing; Is it sales, Brand Building, Creating Buzz, Reaching Segment, Customer Engagement, Customer Service or You want to be there because your competitors are there. Secondly, what would be the right platform for your company? It is not necessary to be everywhere. Quality always matters. Approach limited platform with strong intent and right strategy. And lastly, STP analysis, which is an old marketing method successful in any kind of business if defined well. If any of the above expect doesn’t meet with your business requirement then certainly you are wasting your time on Social Media.
