Yes obviously social networking sites are addictive in their lives. Because we see a large number having their accounts in face book, they want to be in touch with their friends, relatives etc. They just want to send messages or upload photos to share what is happening in their life at each and every movement. So that is the reason people are just addicted and they are very much interested to see what' s going on their friend's lives.

Yes it is true that social networking sites are addictive. Now the time is such that people don't contact people through phones but through social netwroking sites like facebook, for professional networking LinkedIn and celebrirites on twitter. Not only youngsters, but this crazr is among older people as well. Even older people are having their facebook accounts. Kids don't spend their time on the playgrounds but they spend most of their time on online surfing and on computers. As every coin has 2 sides, similarly it has advantages and disadvanatages also. As technology is upgrading every day we want everything that has the newest of technology. Its us, the humans who want new things and thus organisations are developing their technologies.

Yes i think that social networking sites are very addictive once used on a continuous basis. Addiction usually refers to compulsive behavior that leads to negative effects. In most addictions, people feel compelled to do certain activities so often that they become a harmful habit, which then interferes with other important activities such as work or school. Social networking addiction is a phrase sometimes used to refer to someone spending too much time using Facebook, Twitter and other forms of social media -- so much so that it interferes with other aspects of daily life. a social networking addict could be considered someone with a compulsion to use social media to excess--constantly checking Facebook status updates or "stalking" people's profiles on Facebook, for example, for hours on end. Therefore it can be said that using the social networking sites are very effective in many ways but it can be a bad addiction if used for all the personal things.

I think social networking is not a way to make friends because as per privacy policy of social networking sites, you are not suppose to send a friend request to a person whom you don't know so it's not for making friends. The concept of social media is to be in touch with known ones like friends relatives and social issues. It's not for making friends at all, it's for to be in touch with your friends, relatives and social issues etc.

Thanks and regards.

I was addictive to social sites .. when I was a student, now I rarely login to any of them..

Thus, as per my experience they are addictive when you don't have any work to do, when your interaction to people get reduced, in this situation one move to these websites.

Secondly for youth and children, it is a new thing.. yes they become addictive but not for very long time.,.,

According to me. Yes Social Sites are addictive. Any social Site we are associated we use to access these site every time just for looking what post had been made and who likes my status and commenting on others status. We use most of our time in accessing our social sites than our important works. It is a highly addictive things ever in Internet however it is associated with your social interference but now there is only comments and jokes in social site apart from its main objective of getting close and maintaining healthy relationship with others. Social networking site waste a lot of time and working hour in offices and other works also. due to addictive.

Social networking sites are addictive to an extend, but it vary from individual's habit & motto of using these sites.. for eg, People have different thought process & accordingly they use websites like Fb..
For some its networking, making friends, a way to b in touch with people & for some its a time waste too...
Looking at the trend, every organisation even have Fb page now.. so that show its imp to make there presence there.. so addiction is something which is due to thought process of individual..

According to me as every thng has its own advantages n disadvantages so as with the social networking sites...like for eg.you can take FB it can be used for contacting your distant relatives and freinds where as on the other side people get aaddicted to it ,they just open it to see whats going on in their frndz life, uses some applications n wasting their time...so such types of site seems to be very attractive in the statring but later on people get addicted to it.
