No , I don't think so its important if it is b2b as very less people use mobile for accessing websites through mobile for business.

Extremely important.
By the end of 2012, 50% of all searches will be performed on mobile devices. So, its better to optimize your site for mobile.

It depends.
Well...according to me if it is B2C it shall work else in B2B it will not.
