Raman said to his father at the hyper-city mall "Dad I love that bat,can we buy it" ? The father instantly purchased the bat for his son and he was so delighted to get that bat.A consumer loves a product and he want to purchase that product. If,I love the product of a company,so I will buy that product regularly from the company. In this case I will become a prospective customer of that company. So what companies like Pantaloons,Nike and Domino's are doing now days, they are keeping a track of these people who are regular customer of their products. These companies are reaching out to these people though the social media or through other contacts and offering them special packages like discount for being a loyal customer. This is been done the other way round too,now days the customers are also providing companies their contact information. So that the companies can contact them for any special offer. So these customers become the lead for these companies.

But its not important to get a lead,he should be qualified too.So companies are looking into this matter seriously as how much qualified there lead is.But if companies have to get a qualified lead they have to work a lot for it.They can get a qualified lead in following ways.Firstly they can educate and guide their lead of their products,so that the lead can further market the product to his contacts.Secondly they should interact more with their leads, so as to know more about their knowledge on sales and marketing.Thirdly, when a customer arrives to them they should make a note of the educational qualifications of the customer in their records. These all factors if kept in mind can help a company in finding a qualified lead.

Qualified lead is the customer who has shown the interest and ability to make a purchase a product or service within a reasonable time frame.
Steps for getting qualified lead
•Lead management strategy: - This can be done when you automate lead qualification and scoring using budget, authority, need and timing attributes. Track online activity and buying interests of target customers. But this should have timeline.
•Content creation: - Write quality content and post it on blog. It will help you generate quality leads at cheaper cost.
•Search engine optimization: - Start writing articles with keywords that your leads type for searching for your product.
•Give offers: - Get the attention of your prospects by offering discounts.
•Finally, your value proposition should be enough to bring back the customer even if your idea is not effective.

While looking for a qualified lead the first thing you should keep in mind that whether the person you're talking to is authorized to buy from you.Because in B2B sales you should reach directly to the decision maker or to the purchasing person. If you're pitching to people who truly don't need or can't buy what you have to sell, you're wasting your time. So take a few minutes to qualify your leads before entering in to a coversation.

Qualifying the lead or prospect is a part of Pre-sales. It is a process which is taken before the prospect is acquired. If we are talking to someone who truly don't need our product or cannot buy, we are just wasting our time. So, following are some points which should be kept in mind to get a qualifying sales lead.
* Make your clients understand what are you selling & can give them an idea  how your product is beneficial for their Business Development.
* Have a clear understanding of what your client is looking for & how you improve their Product & services.
* The person to whom your are dealing should be a decision maker.
* Have a good knowledge of the prospect's business.
* Immediately after talking to the person send him a introductory mail.
