Now the competition is increases day by day due to the similar product launches and before you know it, it's a race to the bottom.Its no matter what industry your are in ,there is no time for the trial and error its a time to sell.There are some basic steps you should use to improve your sales performance:

Define your Customers - Identifying the customer who would most likely to buy your product will help you to find ideal customers by making a list of all of the benefits that your customer will enjoy by using your product or service.

Focus on customer needs - Its very clear that your prospects will buy only what they need and its very difficult to convince them to buy your products so Emphasize on your customer needs and service that reduce costs and solve problems.

Clarify your mission - It should be very clear, what to do and why you are doing this
-who are your targeting customers
-What are you going to tell them
-What is your proposal
-selling process

Negotiation Techniques - Learn proper negotiation techniques where both parties are happy with the results.It usually quite concerned about finding a solution or the satisfactory to both parties

Sometimes we wonder what is it that we are not doing right that the figures are not picking up as per the sales forecast. Most of the times there is nothing we do wrong but there are certain things that we need to know better. Here are a few suggestions as to how to increase sales:
(1) Focus on specific markets: Your product might appeal to the mass, but as a marketer you need to concentrate on those set of people who will eventually pay for it. Do not design crowd puller strategies. Instead focus on your most prospective customers.
(2) Stress heavily on your USP: USP is unique selling proposition. It is the basic reason why your customers will choose to do business with you and not with your competitor. so make sure your USP is in good stead
(3) Do not advertise without an offer: Offers are the best way to increase website traffic. They draw the crowd towards your brand both online and offline.
(4) Gather contact information and follow up on customers: Customers are the richest assets to a business. They are never wrong. They are the most important stakeholders of your business. So gather as much information as you can about your customers. Know them. Read their purchasing behaviour. Talk to them about their purchase. Ask them if you can do anything to serve them better.
These are a few things, which when done right certain makes a difference in your sales.
