Emotional Intelligence and Success in Corporate.

Emotional intelligence is an ability of a person to hold on it's extreme of an emotion and strike the right balance between emotion flowing within oneself and emotion being discharge by one.Talking primarily about the corporate world,this is a place where we need to have a fine balance of emotions. Emotional intelligence is required to run the team , for taking important decisions etc. It is important to know how not to be harsh with the team & at the same time how to get the best out of every employee. Emotional intelligence is required in taking important corporate decisions whereby you don't let your emotion dominate and take wrong decision and at the same time you don't let hurt any body's emotion. Right balance of emotional intelligence is a must for success in corporate world.

Its a general belief that Emotion means" too sensitive, crying and breaking easily". Agreed, but emotions are not only these and plays a very important role. How you are reacting and responding to a particular situation, handling pressure, criticism and many other others for that matter.....if you are emotionally strong in these respect...definitely success is there...

Emotional Intelligence –What does that mean?
If someone aims to progress up in the corporate ladder then the following necessities are to be kept in mind.
• Analytical Skills,
• Logical Thinking,
• On the feet decision making skills,
• Technical Knowledge (the domain knowledge in which someone is assigned tasks)
• Impeccable articulation skills,
• Most importantly, Emotional Intelligence.
Without people skills, other skills will go in vain. Emotional intelligence is not only required for success in corporate but also in life. Success in the workplace rests on Emotional Intelligence rather than the Book knowledge. People with Emotional Intelligence know their strength, weakness and emotions better. They know how it will impact others. The potential benefit of possessing a high Emotional Intelligence is that they could analyze the constructive criticism. They are self-motivated and optimistic. Finally they show empathy towards others and put themselves into other’s shoes.
The Emotionally Intelligent people are lauded for their people skills and are highly respected by their bosses and peers.
A thorough self-introspection will make an individual to analyze their strengths, weaknesses and paves the way for finding improvement in EQ.
With regard to Sales work profile, Professionals get a good learning experience from each customer if he/she takes up the criticism to be constructive and improve the marketing skills.
A recent survey proves that there is a strong correlation between EQ and success.
Finally to wrap up,“It is not only the IQ (Intelligent Quotient) that helps one to climb up the corporate ladder, but also EQ”.
