Well, given that all the telephone lines and the internet connections are snapped for the moment, here's a few tricks a manager can try to take care of the situation:
(i) He can call for a quick meeting
(ii) He can brief his employees about their responsibilities for the day.
(iii) Form teams and assign tasks.
(iv) Select senior professionals to mentor these teams and cater to any problems they face.
(v) take updates from the mentors as to how their teams are working.

These few steps would surely help the situation.

When telephone and internet connections becomes non-operational the manager should check for alternate if possible.
And if it is not possible then the manager first step to call the technical department should know about the problem and ask for the solution and
time take it to resolve the problem.

The next step, the manager should call for a meeting and should take the report of everybody and should explain where they need to improve and
the remaining details about the updates of the project.

Next after completing all those still time remains then the manager should go for taking the feedback and then for non technical and technical
questions that helps the manager to know where the staff need to improve and can arrange training for that.

Manager of the company comes with great responsibilities and the person responsible to be dependant upon. He has to be alert and should act wise. In case of telephonic or internet lines are dead, he should first check what the problem is. If the problem is too big and it will take take to get repaired, he should for that time provide some temporary telephone and internet services. He should act wise and should be alert as to what should be done in troublesome situations. He also has to be quick enough so that the employees do not bear the embarrassment, customers do not face any problems and the organisation does not get affected. For this, the manager should be competent enough to perform tasks effectively.

If you ask me, a manager should utilize the technical downtime for interacting with the team members, not only discussing about their work related issues or experience but also their experiences in life. Can plan for some intellectual games, team outings, team building activities, etc. Coz this is the time when teams are built and new strategies are born.

He/she can use his time for some productive activities which can improve the viability of the organization as well as his own self development. He can plan for the next day as he has to target on achieving more including the previous day’s. He can also conduct a meeting with employees and can spend some time to listen their views about the work and the work culture too. He also can discuss and get new ideas from them for the improvement of the Organization and to achieve the targets more efficiently and effectively.

“WORK IS WORSHIP” at the same time “all work and no game makes Jack a dull boy”. Here I would like to say that One should take his/her job very seriously but not at the stake of life. Sometimes, it might happen that Internet and telephone lines become non-operational in Office. It is a real crisis situation, especially for MNCs and IT firms.

At this point of time, managers have to handle this situation very tactfully. He/she can take following steps:
• Brainstorming session.
• Informally interact with the team.
• Discuss how to avoid similar future crisis.
• Plan some games/recreational activity to avoid boredom and increase group cohesiveness.

When the telephone line and internet becomes non operational then the Duty of a manager is to give proper guidance to their teammates.Give training to the them..Tell them about company future plans...Give motivational speech to them ..Take their views how to increase quality and quantity in their work .Involving the team in some different and creative activity which increase the way of thinking. As its the best time for the team to regain their energy & to get fresh.

The first thing is to consult your internet provider, this is the primary role of manager, when the internet and telephone line became non operational its a best time to
communicate with your executives, give training to them. In this case manager should follow the time management process , its a process of planning and exercising control over the amount of time spent.
