Authority and Responsibility are two sides of the same coin. With authority comes responsibility. More the authority more is the responsibility. Authority brings power - power to control sub ordinates and with this comes Responsibility- to show results. More the Responsibility, Higher is the Authority.

Authority and Responsibilty!!
Authority and Responsibility are two different terms yet so similar. Authority is the power given to an individual by an organisation , however responsibility comes from within. If a person is holding an authority for something it is his responsibility to perform it right. However this doesn't mean if you are not authorised for something you should not be responsible. It is important to take the responsibility and be an informed citizen , employee and an individual

In an organization delegation of power is very important, as all the tasks cannot be performed by the manager. While delegating power to subordinates it should be kept in mind that if the power delegated is not enough for that subordinate to perform the tasks given to him, then that individual will be unable to fulfill the responsibilities that accompany the job, however if too much power is delegated, then it will likely be misused. There has to be a balance between the authority given to an individual and the responsibilities of the job. It should be kept in mind that delegation of power is very important as it empowers the employees and in addition to helping them do their jobs, it also boosts their morale.

Authority and Responsibility are two sides of the same coin. The term ‘authority’ stands for the power assigned to an individual to make decisions, whereas ‘responsibility’ is a method of implementing those assigned authority.
If one has to perform the task all authorities are given to him ultimately the responsibility comes alongwith the authorities in order to make that task successful.So we can say that Authorities & Responsibilities are similar but not the same.

Authority and responsibility are interconnected with each other.When authority is given automatically responsibilities will come in order to prove that authority.Authority is the power to get the work done by others and take the right decision at right time wherein responsibility is doing that work in the systematic and smart manner.Authority makes person more responsible but responsible person not always authoritative..Later on authorities can be given to her depending upon the responsibilities she did properly and in what manner...

Authority and responsibilty though different words but are interconnected with each other. Authority and Responsibility are the two words which are used simultaneously. However, both the terms have different meanings. Authority is basically the power to take decisions. And decisions can be any decision, can be the decision to use resources or not etc. Authority is related to some post in the organisation. Like the owner of any organisation has the authority to change decisions and plans. And, authority can be transferred also. It can be given to some other person in the organisation also. If the owner is retiring, then his powers and duties will be assigned to some other person. Responsibility is the obligation of the person to perform the task properly. Mostly, responsibility is associated with subordinates or juniors. When a superior or a senior assigns duties to his subordinates or juniors, it becomes the responsibility of the subordinates to perform the task wisely and properly. Responsibility arises because of the superior and subordinate relationship. Here also, the responsibility can be given to someone else also. Both the terms have different meanings but still used simultaneously and understood as one single term and also both the terms have same meanings. However, it is not the truth.
