UNFCCC: Convention of Parties 21 in Paris

#1 Postby Lal » Mon Nov 30, 2015 9:57 am

More than 150 Heads of government and heads of state gathers in Paris today to save this earth from global warming. The world leaders shall fight harder to reach to a legally binding agreement so that we can reduce the carbon emission and shall not let the average temperature go beyond 2.7 degree centigrade by 2100 from the pre industrial level.

To achieve this target most of the countries have submitted their Intended Nationally Determined Contributions (INDCs) which are not sufficient to contain this ever growing temperature. India has also submitted their (INDCs) where it has stated that that it will reduce the carbon emission by 33-35% from the level of 2005.India has shown greater inclination towards this growing concern by submitting their aggressive INDCs where it has also committed that by 2030 India's 40% of energy requirement will be met from non fossil fuels.

Let us wait how events shall unfold there and who gets what will be clear as this convention comes to an end by next month.
