Pollution has become one of the alarming issues of today's world. It's increasing with a rapid pace day by day because of which DELHI was declared as the most polluted city of the world. In order to reduce the pollution Delhi government introduced a new scheme known as the ODD-EVEN Scheme. According to this new scheme the car numbers ending with 1,3,5,7 or 9 will run on the odd number dates and vice-versa in respect with the even numbers. This scheme was trail and tested for 15 days in order to see the drop in pollution level. It was a smart initiative on the government's side for the benefit of the present as well as future generation.

This is a good initiative to mitigate the pollution as well as jam problems...but there should be some clauses of emergency and the Emergency word to be defined as well.
They are going to launch this in phases and also some clauses like...rule valid from 8 am to 8 pm..which is actually peak hours....Sunday would be a free day..you can ride as many as want...

But vehicles are not the main reason for the pollution...failed pollution check in industries...illegal samll kaarkhanas....corrupt bureaucracy and flawed environmental laws....these all are very much responsible for making Delhi most polluted city.

Odd even number cars in Delhi

Pollution has become very important issue for everyone and currently world leaders are negotiating in Paris how to control this climate change phenomena. Especially people of Delhi has been suffering a lot from air pollution as it has become the world's most polluted city, Even Delhi High Court has named it gas chamber. keeping all these things in mind Delhi Chief Minister has taken a very important decision to allow odd even numbers in particular day: one day odd number cars, next day even number cars and so on. As this will come into effect from 1st Jan 2016 so till the time Delhiites can ride their cars freely irrespective of the day.
I think this is very good initiative as it is in effect in several global cities like Beijing so to bring the air pollution under control we will have to comply with these kind of rules. As of now it has received support from all quarters of the society and even recently anointed Chief Justice of India Honorable T S Thakur has supported it and requested the fellow judges to do car pooling to reach the court complex.

Let us see how this initiative works as detailed guidelines are yet to come.
