On comparing MBA education and experience of course experience will have the upper hand. Real life knowledge is always something different than bookisk knowledge.Experience teaches the former and MBA the latter. Just as finishing a library of books cannot make one a swimmer until he goes into the water and gets the taste of it,likewise it is experience that speaks more than formal education.
Think of Mumbai dubbawala..How much educated are they? but they set themselves an examples to all the top b-schools.

Education and Experience both are equally required. As a cart cannot run smoothly with one wheel similarly education without experience and skills is in vain. Education provides the basic knowledge and deep study whereas experience provides the opportunity to implement all the knowledge which we acquire. An Educated person without experience and skills is also treated as uneducated.
So, to achieve the organisational and personal goals we should have both education and experience.

with the MBA education, you should have experience in particular field. Experience is very important to be into competition. Specially in sales, you learn everything while you are into the field.

See.....education and experience both are required...however, education helps in honing ur experience,,,,,,previous case studies....quick analytical skills and many other basic knowledge helps in running the business. Management experience is diferrent and education is different. An uneducated person can have management experience but may lag behind in technical aspects....

MBA Education Vs Experience

Do we really require an MBA degree to manage a business.??? I think the answer is NOOOO...
What an MBA student learn in class is lot of theories, technical terms, etc. Infact these are what the real business people with little education practice in their day-to-day business life. If you ask an MBA student what skills do they require to run a business the answer would be communication skills, human skills etc. Why don't they realise that business is not about communication and human skills alone.??

MBA is an active course and the students should be debating on the theories they learn rather than accepting blindly what's written in the texts. In this era of innovation asking more questions is the key. Another trend is students are not aware of what real business is. Most of them are in the fantasy world of fat pay cheques. They must realize that textbooks, ambience, air-conditioned classrooms are not what life as a business manager will be. Alot of sweat, hardwork, analytics are the real business.

The students must be exposed to the real life business scenarios. That is where the B-schools have to think about and give a re-look on the syllabus.
