The Samajwadi party has made the announcement that SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav will contest simultaneously from Mainpuri and Azamgarh.General Secretary of party Mr.Ram Gopal Yadav, said this was decided following a demand by party members in Purvanchal. So in the upcoming LS Polls Mulayam Yadav’s will contest from Azamgarh, along with his traditional Mainpuri seat.
Samajwadi party decision also reflects that wave of Mr.Narendra Modi is blowing in whole Uttar Pradesh state and this decision clearly conveys present uneasiness in the ranks of the ruling party in the state government.
Azamgarh has been considered as a place which can play a pivotal role in Muslim politics. And from past few months as we have all seen that Mulayam has somewhat contained the anger of the Muslim community over the mishandling of the Muzaffarnagar riots. But the part is very confident about the same they say when the competitor is a person carrying the Hindutva baggage and who still considered as the culprit for the Godhra incident , grievances relating to Muzaffarnagar can be temporarily put on the backburner.
