It is just FOOD4Vote because this bill came just months before general elections. UPA is the ruling party for 10 years and if they were really concerned about poor people then this should have come 10 years before. They are just opportunistic and even now I don't feel this would be implemented for the good of poor. It would just turn out into another scam.

Food Security Bill Passed in Loksabha:Food4Vote or Food4All

At last yesterday, the UPA Alliance got the approval for Food Security Bill in the Lok Sabha on Monday..Althugh it came under BJP's fire and the Samajwadi Party, which called it an initiative to win elections. The Loksabha session started on a high node from senior BJP leader Murli Manohar Joshi he termed the legislation as a 'vote securing' bill. "You say you are providing adequate food to people. I want to know what the government means by adequate food. You are giving 5 kg. There is no dal, no salt... where is the nutrition," Joshi asked. He quoted the example of Chattisgarh also, where Food Security covers 90% of the population. Its government provides a full nutritious meal for Rs 5. Planning Commission says that it is the best model in India whereas this bill covers just the 50%..

Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav alleged the Government, he said that the ruling party has bring the legislation with elections in mind and not for the welfare of the poor.Is this is not the election plan of the UPA Government then they might have done it six months back, when so many deaths were recorded just because of hunger in Odisha and Maharashtra..but bringing this bill just prior to the Elections reflects that they are just doing to get the winning votes for them in Elections 2014.

But after all the speeches against this Bill..UPA became successful to get this bill passed from Loksabha..We can just hope that this bill won't just give the gurantee for food in papers or in words..it will surely result in food for the poor..
