Allahabad High Court:No Cast based Rallies in Uttar Pradesh!

#1 Postby Shivani » Thu Jul 11, 2013 3:26 pm

The decision of Allahabad High Court to put a stay on caste-based rallies in Uttar Pradesh..has come out as a big blow to the political parties. This decision has been taken by the Lucknow bench of the Allahabad HC, the order has said to put a stay on these rallies with an immediate effect. It has also issued notices to central and state governments, Election Commission and four major political parties - BJP, Congress, BSP and SP - in the state, asking them to present their point of view.

This decision is really a great blow to the parties like the Bahujan Samaj Party and the Samajwadi Party, who count their votes primarily on there cast based rallies only. As, in the recent developments BSP recently concluded its first phase of Brahman conventions in the state in which party organized rallies to woo Brahmans in 38 Lok Sabha constituencies of the state.Other parties were also planning the same now, BSP was also planning to hold similar rallies for other castes and Muslims. The SP had also held conventions for Brahmans, Backward Classes and Dalits in last six months. The BJP and Congress are also holding caste and community based public meetings and convention

Now they have to come out with some other working strategies to get the votes in the state..So best of luck to all the parties in the state..
