There's this interesting theory that you might want to take a look at. It says, everything is ultimately a service.
When you are buying the product, or the service - you are not really buying the offering per se, but the utility or the benefit that you are getting out of it. Now you need to position and re-position your offerings continuously, and also encourage the customer/consumer to think laterally - the various ways in which he or she can use the product. Encouraging him or her to question your offerings is a wonderful way to involve him or her in the offering development process. Look at how the offering affects his social status, his domestic milieu - that defines how he or she feels about the offering.
Please see, all the views written above are mostly applicable to B2C markets. An accurate positioning statement goes a long way in involving the consumer.

4 P's of Marketing

#2 Postby sampritiimtn » Fri Apr 03, 2015 12:49 pm

Marketing is meeting the needs of your customers profitably.
The marketing mix or the 4 p's of marketing are as follows:
Product: a lot depends on what you are selling. A good product sells itself. Make sure the product being offerred meets the needs and expectations of your target segment. A good product surpasses customer expectations
Price: price should be decided in accordance with the target market. If it is the niche market where you are offering to sell your product, the pricing strategies should be decided accordingly.
Place: marketing should be done as per the place you are in. For instance, marketing strategies for a city and a town are unlike each other.
Promotion: this is the most interesting part of the 4p s of marketing. Promotion is telling the world how great your product is and why should customers choose you over got it....
