Marketing can be taught, but a creative mind cannot so much. You have to develop creativity.

Re: Can marketing be taught?
Yes .. it can be taught but the best marketing person is the one who has impulsive attitude to what the customer would be looking for
Re: Can marketing be taught?
For those of us who go to b-schools and sit through those 90-minute lectures, yes marketing can be taught in class.
We write as many as 4 tests of 3 credits each every trimester, on marketing.
Your professor may teach you what is marketing all about?
what are the 4ps and the 7ps of products and services respectively?
how to design pricing strategies.
understanding the IMC
understanding different sales techniques.
But the spark lies in you.
Like they say, there are marketers and there are successful marketers.
to be the latter, you have to have the zeal in you, something your professor won't teach you in class.
Something that comes to you naturally.
So, yes I agree with Jainishar, marketing cannot be taught in class.

Can marketing be taught?
Marketing is one’s own. It cannot be infused into anyone through books and case studies.
It differs from brand to brand , from person to person and from time to time.
How should one design a marketing strategy?
The answer to this question is a function of many parameters:
(i) The company the marketer is employed with.
(ii) The product or service he is planning to sell
(iii) The target market of the product or service.
(iv) The geography of the market.
(v) The season and the climate of the place.
(vi) The economy of the people living there.
These are only a few of the parameters to be taken care of.
Hence marketing is not a subject that you can earn from books and presentations.
You have to bring it out from within to be a successful marketer.
It differs from brand to brand , from person to person and from time to time.
