In sales both things matters..People become experts with the experience...An expert is the one who knows everything about the product and market and know solution of every problem..These things come from experience..You can not learn everything from books until and unless you implement it...After implementation you will face problems and when you have solutions for those problems then you become experience in that field...This is the step for your expertise...Now you can deal any problem or any query easily..U know the ans because you become an expert through the same problems.

Sales experts: Experience or expertise, which matters?

Selling and buying is such a central part of our lives that it affects us on a daily basis. It is both an art as well a science and as such both experience and expertise are required. Out of the two though, experience just tops expertise by a whisker. If there is adequate knowledge about the product, clients and competitors, it is experience which is the difference between a make or break in a deal.

An expert can market the product effectively and inform the customer about the product or service. But an experience sales person will always influence the customer choice by helping hi or her make an informed decision with respect to the product. It’s the experience of a sales person, which also helps in providing effective feedback back to the organization. This in turn helps in improving the quality of the products or services aligned to customer choice.

Customers too are more inclined to listen and be impacted by people who have experience. Expertise is not always a 100% solution on the ground while actual interaction is going on with a customer. People react to real life situations and experiences and that is where I feel that experience always triumphs expertise, provided as I have already mentioned, experience is coupled with adequate and correct information.

Expertise matters more to become a sales expert.. To become a sales expert, you have to analyze & understand what kind of selling do you enjoy the most... Analyze the industry & customer type that fascinates you & keeps you confident through out the sales process. You should understand the buyer decision making process & assess their needs accordingly. A good sales consultant will always reveal information about their customer's needs & expectations effectively.

You should know the strength & weak points of your sales & how they can affect your sales performance. The more effective you are at advertising your product, the more trust & respect you gain from the clients. :) :)

Sales is very unique as a process. Experts can help sell a product but their expertise has been acquired as a result of experience.
The more you sell, the more you will learn. While it is difficult as a profession, it can be mastered as well. It is personal and emotional.
A person who is very emotional, feelings oriented will be able to sell better compared to a logic oriented person. Intelligent selling is a combination of both left and right brain approach.

I think experience matters more to become an expert...not only in sales but also in every field. An experienced person can understand the clients in advance and can act as an expert in tackling his problems.Experience will contribute to expertise if sales people are capable of learning from it.

Experts continuously extend the outer edge of their competence, by:
taking on further challenges
setting themselves higher standards &
working hard to reach those standards.

So,to be an expert, experience will be counted..!!

Simple definition .. Sales experts are those experts which can increase the sales . It can be an experience or it can be a flair . One thing is for sure you cannot train a person in sales and make him expert. It is a flaired job and a person who does not like it can never be an expert .

Experience has an advantage for sure.. But there are lot of definitions of sales experts in various context .. shall tell in detail latter

Sales Experts is it just a designation assigned..or its the experience which gets counted at this place. As some people say that experience is not the only basis through which we can consider a Sales person an expert..A person with an expertise in the Sales can also be an expert..regardless of the experience the person is having.

What is your opinion on this..is it the experience or the expertise which counts to be a Sales Expert..
