https://encrypted-tbn1.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcTxz5vvz7aeMoXB5jgmlAFCGIP4JwI44JIm20ghHjDjgQajcpipGanesha Chaturthi is the Hindu festival celebrated on the birthday (rebirth) of Lord Ganesha, the son of Shiva and Parvati.
It is believed that Lord Ganesh bestows his presence on earth for all his devotees during this festival. It is the day Shiva declared his son Ganesha as superior to all the gods, barring Vishnu, Lakshmi, Shiva and Parvati. Ganesha is widely worshipped as the god of wisdom, prosperity and good fortune and traditionally invoked at the beginning of any new venture or at the start of travel.

Ganesha is worshipped for 10 days from Bhadrapada Shudha Chaturthi to the Ananta Chaturdashi, On the 11th day, the statue is taken through the streets in a procession accompanied with dancing, singing, and fanfare to be immersed in a river or the sea symbolizing a ritual see-off of the Lord in his journey towards his abode in Kailash while taking away with him the misfortunes of his devotees. Lord Ganesha is known as Vigahan Harta.. It symbolize, that Ganesha brings fortune to your place, this is the reason ganesha is considered to be superior of al gods & every pray, mantras & chanting of god starts with Lord Ganesha.

We pray ganesha, while starting a day, starting a business, to help us in dark time & give us success to stand all obstacles, with peace, patience & to be gentle as him. There are vastu attached with the Ganesha trunk, it is said that statue of Ganesha should have his trunk on Right side & should be kept in a way, keeping back towards door of statue, so to maximise the fortune coming in. Ganesha give up his ego & have accepted the face of elephant, have fought Lord Shiva, creator of world for Parvati. To be successful, we need to learn to give up our ego & grow with others.
