Building a brand is a big thing.
More difficult than it sounds.
It takes a lot of planning, hard work and a mid full of ideas to develop a brand.
A brand is not just a logo with a tagline, its more than that.
A brand is an identity, a power , a promise of value.
Why do you think all brands are not famous?
Because it is not at all an easy job, creating a great brand.
A good brand needs quality on its side and it needs to deliver trust to its customers.

Branding is an activity which helps in distinguishing one company's product/ service from another. It is a systematic approach of differentiating and giving a competitive edge to one's product over another . Proper branding helps in creating an image over customers mind and it helps in remembering them. Branding can be done in any form. It could be either slogan , title , color , pictures , mascot etc.
Branding helps in building an image over the customers mind. For example : " Dar k aage jeet hein" - slogan of Mountain Dew can be recalled , "Har ek friend zaroori hota hein" - tagline of Bharti Airtel , Ronald McDonald - mascot by McDonald etc. are the examples of branding. It helps in building and recalling anme for customers.
Hence it is necessary to brand your product in order to attract larger segment of customers , it will help in building goodwill of the organisation.

Branding- A Game of Perception.
A Brand is any product that provides functional + added values with some customers value enough to buy. Values are added over a period of time. Initially, Brand must be a product when it is perceived by the customer then it became brand. We can differentiate: Brand and Product, Brands are created in the mind of customers whereas Products are manufactured in the factories.
Branding is about marketing and marketing is about branding. Marketing is all about building brand in the customers mind. Branding is battling for the space in the mind of customer. Power of branding depends on or lies in the ability to influence purchase.
Sources of added values:
1) Added values arise from used product.
2) Added values come from the kind of people who use the product.
3) Added values come from believe that brand is effective or working.

It is very important due to following reasons:
Fickle Customers, Intense Competition, Demanding Retailers, Constrained resources and impatient Investors.
Brand is all about experience. It is said that “I hear I forget, I see I remember, I experience and I understand”.
Brand is an association of customer’s thoughts, perceptions, feelings, beliefs, attitudes and behaviors.
Brand elements like brand name, logo etc should be memorable, short, crisp, meaningful, likable, transferable, adaptable, protectable, unique and should not be a tongue twister.

Co branding occurs when the two established brand names of different companies are used on the same product. In co branding situation, one company licenses another company's well-known brand to use in combination with its own. The advantage is that the product now can have two different attributes corresponding to brands. The combined brands create greater customer appeal and bring customers more closer to company. But the limitation is that there are many complex contracts and licenses are involved.
