In the present scenario customers are not just associated with a company because it offers them good quality products but also because it offers them best of the sales service. So it would not be wrong to say that both go hand in hand.
Good quality in sales service becomes an essential aspect in terms of service companies like IT services as there is no tangible product that the company offers it is the services that they are selling. Also the customers end up having a good experience by being satisfied on the amount spent on product if the after sales service is delivered in an efficient manner.
Quality in sales helps to provide a competitive edge in the dynamic environment as technology used in an product can be easily replicated by the competitor as we see today in case of the Smartphone industry so it is the quality in sales that brings in the differentiating factor and helps to attract and retain customers

Quality is always important for both..Quality is the only thing which represents your product..People never compromise on quality of product and our director also...No discount and offers can replace product quality...If quality of a product is not good its very hard for a salesperson to sell their product and retain their old customer..As the market is dynamic companies are launching new products and attracting customers but every customer want best product in reasonable rates..Even they are ready to pay more if the product is best in their terms...If the product is best then its easy for salesperson to sell and offer after sales services...

The word "Quality" represents the properties of products or services that are valued by the consumer. Quality is an attribute of product or service that fulfills the need of a customer and satisfy customers expectations.It is a characteristic of the product or service that makes it fit to use. It makes a product, a process, or a service desirable.Quality is a trait of a product or service that ensures that the product has gone through all necessary process to minimize defects and finally it is able to meet the requirements of consumers.Today market is more competitive and customer driven. Today’s customer is more aware and educated. They demand for quality products and services. Quality plays an important role in this new era of globalization because it has certain benefits.
According to me it is not only in product in fact it is also used for sales...

Quality is in product... but a good sales person is required to highlight those qualities in industry..
It goes hand in hand.. a perfect product & good sales team, who have faith in their product, can only sell it in industry

Both are required hand in hand , Quality of the product is essential because customers spend money obviously to buy quality products .. If they would be satisfied the organization would gain "Customer Loyalty" ..

Secondly , If there is proper marketing of product by effective means , it would make the product stand stand out & give it a competitive edge against other products. Moreover quality in sales process is essential if the product is in the entry-level to market , & also builds customer satisfaction thus improving an organization profitability.

Yes Quality in sales equally matters as in Product...
A commitment to quality in the sales process revolves around the growth dynamics of an enterprise. Each step in a sales process should be well defined and the action to be performed clearly set. Beginning from researching leads to closing a sale, everything should move in clockwork precision. Apparently some small issues can make a huge difference to the final outcome. So care must be taken to strengthen every action involved in each step of the sales process.

Yes Quality in sales process is important similarly as quality is important for any product, to expand this I have three scenarios :

-If you have a product of high quality but you are not good in selling that product or you are good in sales but product you are selling is of low quality.. In both the cases selling would be difficult but possible.

-High quality product and quality sales process.. In this case selling product is very easy.

-Low quality product & you are not good in sales process.. Sales not possible.

Quality of product is not in the hand sales person, therefore from sales person point of view he always needs to be good in sales process and the same decides how good he is in sales.

Quality means delivering value in first time and every time,quality is a holistic concept and every process in organisation should have quality checks to deliver ultimate satisfaction to customer. Quality in sales process not only enhances internal performance but also gives a very positive and strong branding in market. Quality in sales process means all activities in sales process like Product knowledge, prospecting, approach, need assessment, presentation, close and follow up have certain quality Parameters and all sales personnel are following it religiously. Which mean organisation is process driven and not people dependent therefore every customer will get similar treatment and information irrespective of executive he is dealing with.

Quality is sales process is a huge advantage for any company as it could be a differentiating factor to sell any product, after some time product becomes homogeneous even prices are more or less same in this type of situation a company can win customer based on its effective sales process.

For eg. A customer want to purchase a car and he is making a survey in market for all available models within his budget..Company A has weak sales process where they don't capture every customer information, they don't have follow up process and all sales personnel are not effectively trained, Wheres company B has effective CRM to capture every customer visited in store, they have a dedicated team to make follow up calls and all sales personnel receive regular training.

Undoubtedly Company B will have greater conversion ratio as compared to Company A(Differentiating Factor here is not product, not price but a quality sales Process)

Therefore We can say there is a quality in sales process also.
