As the name suggests, it is a research activity or homework which is required to be done before approaching for sale. This includes gathering information about the target company, their sales trends, Nature of business, Buying trends, Expansion plans etc on the basis of which you can approach that company and pitch your product. It is very important because it increases your confidence when you face your client and help getting a better grip on your sale and product.

Yes.. Pre-sales activities works as back bone for Sales. It starts from a research to understand potential sectors & recognize the list of prospects who may need the company’s products/services. It undergoes qualification and validation phase.. where requirements of prospects are validated and mapped with the company’s products/services.

Pre-Sales activity plays a very crucial role in converting a prospect into a customer, its like before starting the construction of a building, a graph is designed keeping in mind all the aspects for future perspective. So PreSales-Professional is a person who creates a graph by keeping in mind all the requirements of the prospect and then tries to convert the prospect into the customer.

Any activity which is carried out prior to sales is pre sales activity, these activities differ from industry to industry depending on the nature of business. In some industry people have to do cold calling, sending emails, writing the business plans, proposal writing, designing the different types of technical and functional architectures etc.it start from the initial contact face & end once the customer is acquired or we can say when the actual sales done.
It includes-
understanding customer needs
Explain solution to the customer need
and at last providing the best possible solution to their problem.
