A buying decision process not only includes need identification, information collection, evaluation of alternatives, purchase of product and post purchase. It also includes the factors affecting the decision making process. The factors can be classified into two types- internal and external. Internal factors include motivation, perception, etc. External factors include culture, sub culture, groups, family, etc. A marketeer mostly focuses on internal factors, not the external factors. If both can be combined by a marketer, it can give good results for him.

I would like to share my views on this topic. First a fall the buyer has to recognize his need or wants of a particular product, then he has search where he can get the product by asking his friends or relatives. And later he can take the decision about purchasing the product or not. And then after using the product whether he has satisfied with the product or not.

Buying decision process includes various factors that enable the an individual to purchase the product from the market sorting it out from its alternatives and various other options. While making the purchase we keep in mind factors like the price and the features that a particular product is providing along with the various others alternatives . Hence, for the products in the market, its tough call to allure the customers and be there choice and for it better standarisation and quality is needed to them which will help in getting a good customer base for the organisation as well.

According to buying decision not only depends upon the need, but it also depends upon the various factors.
Such as:
1. different level of class
2. Offers on the products
3. Status
4. occassion etc.,.

All these factors involves in buying decision process.
Because a high class faimily buys the products or go for shopping to show off their status. Whereas the middle class or below middle class people buy the product
monthly such as grocery and if between the moth they found the very exciting offer then they might buy the product.

I read all the comments above, everyone is saying about the need....do you really think need or problem is only thing which influences buying ?? NO.....Want is the biggest factor now a days..need is basic......

What will you say about a person collecting expensive paintings or antiques etc ?? is this need ??
have you ever noticed somebody in ur friend circle or neighborhood that people will buy something expensive when you r noticing them but will go for some other products when u r not there..??
what will you call all these ??

There is also something called impulse buy. You went to buy a shirt or tee...end up buying dining set too ....

Buying decision process:-
customer will go thorough different process to purchase new product. first they will identify the need.Then according to need they collect information about product or service.They try to find right product for their need. They will collect information from different sources like retails stores or through internet or they will ask their relatives or friends about product or service , they will find out the features of product or service. Then they will go for alternatives also, in this process they will try to find alternative products or service. After that if they like product , they will buy it.After purchasing a product , if they like they will purchase again and again, otherwise customer never purchase again.This is the process of buying decision. Process will differ from customer to customer but normally most of the customer follow this process.

Buying decision process is the process when a consumer is going to buy a product or a service. Mostly every consumer faces this process, because he/she will some day or the other buy any product or service. There are few stages into this:
The consumer faces with a need to buy to the product
He/she will derive information on that particular product or service
If he/she is satisfies with that information then he will go to buy the product.
If not, then he/she will evaluate more alternatives
He/she will select the best alternative
He/she will go to the store to buy the product
And then the post purchase behaviour- whether he is satisfied with the product or not, does he find the value for the money paid against that product.
Usually this kind of buying process is followed properly when the consumer buys luxurious goods or services.

A buying decision process is the process in through which a customer goes before buying a product.
The stages of buying decision process are:
1. Problem/Need recognition
2. Information search
3. Evaluation of alternatives
4. Purchase decision
5. Post-purchase behavior
However, it is not necessary that customers get through all these stages, it depends on product to product.

It involves five stages -
1.) Need recognition:- The marketer must recognize the needs of the consumer as well as how these needs can be satisfied. For example if a person is hungry then food is desired or if it is a matter of thirst than water is desirable.

2.) Information search:- in consumer buying decision process information search comes at second number. In this stage consumer searches the information about the product either from family, friends, neighborhood, advertisements, whole seller, retailers, dealers, or by examining or using the product.

3.) Evaluation of alternatives:- after getting the required knowledge about the product the consumer evaluate the various alternatives on the basis of it’s want satisfying power, quality and it’s features.

4.) Purchase decision:- after evaluating the alternatives the buyer buys the suitable product.

5.) Post purchase behaviour:- after buying the product consumer will either be satisfied or dissatisfied. If the consumer is not satisfied in that case he will be disappointed otherwise If he is satisfied than he will be delighted.It is the duty of the marketer to satisfy the consumer. :idea:
