I believe combination of both the concepts i.e. right product for customer and right customer for product , both are equally important. The real essence of the product is felt and the greatness is achieved only when the customer is right for the product. The customer should be the one to understand , appreciate and recall the product. However customer would come only if the product is right , meaningful , and has the ability to create the impact in lives of the customers. Therefore , it is important to brand the product right through different channels to attract the deserved customer and also produce the right quality such that the promise made is delivered beautifully. The strategy developed should be such that the blend of two should be able to generate revenue and at the same time increase the brand awareness , brand loyalty and brand equity. Hence to conclude with the combination of right product and right customer are equally important for the overall success of the organisation.

A look at the history of marketing, reveals to us the 4 eras - production, sales, marketing and relationship eras. We've seen a gradual, albeit dramatic shift from the "good product sells itself" to the "consumer is king" to the "building relationships through providing value to the customers" approaches through the 20th century. Necessity is the mother of invention. Primarily, products have always been designed to meet the needs of people. Thus, a product is as good as the customers' needs (or wants, when needs have been created and capitalised on) it satisfies. The prime focus thus can be to design the right product for the customer. Going by the approach of marketing - Segmenting, Targeting and Positioning - we do end up identifying customers and catering to their needs, but that is only because we are trying to focus the certain product's relevance, as a way too generic product could end up being no good at all. Thus, segmentation is essential primarily to narrow down our scope, because we are trying to maximise on the customer bases we have identified. However, once that is done - we still end up modifying the product as per the trends we observe in the usage of the product, the feedback we receive from the customers, thus tending to perfect the product as per the customer's wants. To me, it's all about striking the perfect balance between identifying the right customers, and then creating the right product for the ones targeted.

Both product and customers are important for an organisation. But if we don't sell right product to right customer he will never be satisfied from our services and will never come to buy our product and services again.
Target marketing is creating a product for a particular targeted community. So we can say companies make some products for some special customers and some products for the other set of customers. Some products are innovated according the needs of the customers and in some cases customers themselves find the need in a product.
So deciding whether to create a right product for a right customer or creating a right customer for a right product is difficult.

Right product for customer or right customer for product: Both the two things can not be applied in the same product, both these things are far away from each other. Let's understand this with an example, "Rolls Royce" selects right customer for product, because they have maintained a level in the market, that its in their hand to choose their customer. Which means when we move to higher level in luxury market companies select right customer for their product and also companies which are doing great and are highly successful hardly choose the first option which means "right product for customer", and when we talk about company like "McDonalds" they go for "right product for customer" because the price of that they have set for the customers is understood, that those who all can afford will only go to place the order and its not in their hand to select that to whom they will serve and to whom they won't. An another example of the same segment restaurants never choose their customer, its the customer who choose.
So, basically it depends upon the product/service or the company to select between the two. Once you have start the business its difficult to change.

Right product for customer or right customer for product both are important for an organization in order to improve the sales of the products & to get the brand name in the society. Providing the right product for the customer in right time is important. Based on the demand and necessity of the product only we can improve the sales. If the organization is able to provide the right product for the customer then there is a chance that, he or she may stick for the product for many years. So obviously it improves sales.

Right product for customer or Right customer for product.

As per my knowledge, giving a right product to right customer in right time is very important. Yes sometimes companies should produce the products according to customer needs, then we need follow right product for customer. Sometimes companies need right customer for product, it’s all depending upon product quality and price and quantity. But companies should target right segment of target to increase their sales. So for every company targeting right customer and producing right product is important.

I think both the Options are the right. Its important that there should be right product for the right customer at right time and right place. Hence, any organisation should focus on the Build up of the product and research regarding the right kind of customers that is the Target customers. Same ways, keeping in mind the customers , the product should be designed because now a days the taste and fashion of the people is changing fast and every organisation should adapt the change as fast as possible. Product should be customized according to the needs of the customers. Hence both this option goes hand in hand.

Both the terms place equal importance but right product for customer place major part because from the results of forecasting values or feedback about the product the modifications can be done very easily and new product can also be developed, here the promoting of product to the customer is very easy as already he has awareness of the product but in the case of right customer for product then it would be like niche market the segmentation is limited to particular categories. Whatever product available in the market it should fulfill the needs of the customer where the case right product for the customer comes in to.

In every Marketing Strategy, the first and foremost point is to design the product and hence to decide whether The Right product for customer or right customer for product is not very difficult. The research before the Marketing mix always caters to identify the needs and wants of target audience and well defines the target audience as well. Once the audience is known, it is always preferable to design the product according to the needs of customers, so that it sells the best and also customer gets what his want. Customization is something that is supposed to be the ‘it’ thing these days. Everyone wants to wear or carry apparels/accessories that is custom made for them giving a feeling of special and exclusivity. In order to choose a customer base the provider has to be very particular about his product because product is the foremost important property. When it comes to deciding on one choice I would personally go for right product for customer because of the ongoing trend !!!

Right product for customer or right customer for the product??a tough choice!! But according to me I would prefer right product to the customer. With the changing trends people want everything customised and everything new these days. They want products and services that are flexible and that satisfy the needs of consumers. Most of the organisations provide goods and services, but they fail to deliver value products and services. Consumers are not satisfied with products and hence such organisations fail. Rather than that if you don't deliver right product people will not buy your product. Then you come to know that there is something wrong with your product and then you change your product. No matter what if you deliver right product to the consumers they will surely buy your product, even the segment that is not targeted and will come again and again.
