The marketing guru Kotler says: “Marketers do not create needs: Needs pre-exist marketers, marketers along with other societal factors, influence wants.
Marketing does not create needs because need is the felt of deprivation but it understands and satisfies customers’ needs which are required by the customer. Needs are always considered to be basic necessity and these necessities cannot be created by marketing.

Does market create or satisfy needs?
Markets does both, it creates needs and it satisfy those needs also. Like when a company promotes a product through TV or print media, customers watch those ads and if they like the product they will purchase it. It happens mostly in electronic gadgets, when a company releases a product with good features than the previous products, indirectly company’s creating need and they are satisfying those needs also. Best example for this is apple, Nokia, Samsung. Those company's are creating and satisfying needs of customers.

Marketing not only creates the needs , it also satisfy the needs. Once the product is been marketed to the public , it tends to create the new demand among the customers . Once the customer avails the product, that s the place where the customer is satisfied . hence, creating the need and satisfying the need goes hand in hand. The organisation should provide such product that not only creates the needs but also satisfy the customer .Because when the customer purchase a product they should feel that they have a worth for it. Therefore marketing creates as well satisfy the needs of the consumers.

Marketing create or satisfy needs??a tricky question. But, if we look deep into it we can say that marketing creates needs. It is the sales that satisfy needs. Marketing creates needs, so when a need pops out by watching any advertisement of xyz company, consumer feels the need to go market place. Of course the advertisement will be such that you feel like buying products and services of that particular company. When the consumer goes to market to buy that product, they feel satisfied for the value that they have received against the money paid for the product. That is when sales take place. Marketing creates need whereas it is sales that satisfy needs. As earlier said marketing is all about getting noticed and ales is all about closing the deals.

Marketing is a two side sword.
It understands the customers need and then satisfies it. But also crete demand in some cases.
For instance Apple invented I Phone,thus creating demand for it.Whereas sensing consumer needs for such smartphones available at cheaper price Samsung launched wide variety of smartphone available at different price ranges.

Marketing concept states, it is a process to identifies the needs, wants of the customers and then satisfy them,that mean marketing surely create or satisfy needs as it is a customer/buyers oriented. Marketing main focus is to know the customers needs, covert it into the product and satisfying them by providing the desired product. marketing is the wider concept where all the other marketing function are integrated in to provide the customers what they want or needed.

Marketing is made for both...Marketing means attracting customers and also retain them. So how u can attract customers is through marketing only..Sometimes we don't want anything but by good marketing tricks or commercials we attract to those things that much that we are ready to buy it..So in that way marketing creating the demands and if the product is that good as the marketing we are also satisfied by the product...For creating and satisfying needs companies are ready with their different strategies and services.

Marketing in simple words means creating a demand and selling your products in such a ways that it not only satisfies the current needs of the person but also creates value and future demand of your product and services.

So i will conclude by saying successful marketing not only creates the demands but also satisfies the needs.

Marketing does both...Organizations with the help of marketing creates need among the target customers and also use marketing as a tool to satisfy their needs. The function of marketing is to generate needs and then satisfy them. In order to satisfy customer, marketers are continuously trying to make product more innovative. Marketers tried to stimulate human thoughts by using advertising, sales promotion. There are different tools of marketing which helps to create and satisfy needs of customers.

As per my thinking marketing does both....Marketing is a set of processes for creating,communicating and delivering the value to the customer.
