There is difference between goal and objective. We usually use these two words simultaneously. Goals are considered to be for long term needs and for broader perspective which takes time to accomplish. Objectives are short term needs and which are for a short period of time. Objectives help in the achievement of the goals. As goal is long term perspective, objectives are for short needs and many short needs comprises of a goal. SO if we complete each and every objective, we come one step closer to our goal. Goals have general intentions whereas, objectives are precise. Goals can be intangible whereas objectives can be tangible. We should first think of achieving the objectives and then think of achieving the goal. As objectives help in goal accomplishment.

Goal and objective are different from each other. Goals are the wider term as compared with the objective. Objective is basically for a particular time or the specific period to be achieved. Whereas the Goals are the longer period ambition or the targets to be achieved. Hence, goals cannot be measured in terms of time whereas the objectives can be measured in terms of time.

A Goal is a broad statement of what you want to accomplish. It doesn’t say how you are going to do it, who is going to teach, when it will be done and how it will be accomplished?
An objective clearly says what the person will be able to do … to prove that they have learned something.

Goals are long term and objectives are usually accomplished in the short or medium term.
Goals are obscure and you can’t definitively say you have accomplished one whereas the success of an objective can easily be measured.
Goals are hard to put in a timeline, but objectives should be given a timeline to be more effective.
