Definitely its a great news for Indians and its something to be proud of.. Tigers originated from the Indian subcontinent as per the discovery channel and India used to be the land of tigers and still the one.. In the last decade or so the government has initiated many schemes to increase the numbers of tigers which were to be endangered & extinct to some extent...Sundarbans being the specifically famous for tiger habitats and due to the national tiger reserve its being monitored and preserved regularly....Its the beauty of BENGAL TIGER...which is the most attractive & beautiful of them all...

Being an Indian, there is one more reason to feel happy i.e. tiger population in India has reached to 2226. A huge increase has been registered, as per the last tiger census in 2010 the number was around 1700. Its a matter of pride that we are paying so much attention to conserve the ecology. Our general census takes place after every 10 years but we are conducting tiger census after every 4 years so this shows our commitment to conserve the environment. It is consider that if there are good numbers of tiger in a particular area or country it means ecosystem of that area is healthy. Now India is the country where 70 % of world's tiger reside. Karnataka alone accounts more than 400 tigers and Kerala has also registered huge growth.

Hope this is the result of Save Tiger and other environment friendly campaign.
